Jude plays coy

Monday. Bunny was home all day by herself, shut in my office.

When I returned home and opened my office door the cats rushed in, as they hate shut doors.

Jude must have been lonely, because she seemed to perk up when I opened her cage to pet her.

The cats sniffed the cage warily, but Jude seemed indifferent to their attitude, and rather more pleased to have some company.

The room stank, of course.I opened the window, and when Drew returned from karate I cleaned the cage. Continue reading »

Jude, lounging

Since we started boarding Jude, I’ve made it a habit to leave the cage door open while I’m in the room, in case she wants to hop around the room to get more exercise.

Friends came over last night to pick us up on our way to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,⁽¹⁾ and we played with Jude for a bit, as much as we can, with the rabbit still hiding in the cage. Several times it looked like she might make the leap and hop about the room, but no such luck.

My sister and her boyfriend are on vacation this week. They’re going to Ottawa. To me this sounds like the most boring vacation possible, but she lived there for a few years, so she must be immune to the nothing that happens there. Or corrupted by it.

Hello Beatle

At any rate, we’re rabbit sitting for her boyfriend while they’re away. Her name is Jude.

We’ve set her up in my home office, where we can close the door so she’ll be safe from our cats while we’re away. Though it did take the cats an inordinate amount of time to notice there was a bunny in the house in the first place.

They sniffed her food bag, shavings bag, ate some of her hay (Merlyn), before they realized that the cage wasn’t for them. It had a foreign creature inside. Then it scared them.  Continue reading »
